Expedition cruise basics…

Amidst the solitude of Antarctica, adventurous travellers can discover an ethereal landscape that lingers in the memory. Very few have ventured onto this appealingly inaccessible continent, but those who have rave about the privilege of gazing upon towering mountains, bulky glaciers and luminous, dreamlike icebergs. Perhaps more than anywhere else, Antarctica reminds those who visit it of the awesome (and savage) power of nature.
The Antarctic Peninsula consists of an 800 kilometres (500 mile) long mountain chain, the highest peaks rising to approximately 2800 metres (9186 feet), and numerous off-lying islands.

About the program and itinerary…

Day 1: departure from Ushuaia
In the afternoon, you embark in Ushuaia in Argentina, the southernmost city in the world located at the Beagle Channel and sail through this scenic waterway for the rest of the evening.
